Even my best day could be topped by just 1 minute of doing this:

I am fortunate and blessed. I give thanks everyday for my life, my friends and my family. Today, I came as close to a perfect day as you get. I started the day by speaking to 300 inner city high school students that visited FIU for a college summit. I had the honor of encouraging them to pursue higher education as well as give them tips and advice on how they can have a successful college career. Afterward, I headed to my Alma Mater Broward College where 30 students, professors & a dean awaited my Social Media presentation. At the conclusion of my seminar I was approached on possibly taking the workshop to Florida Atlantic University for a 3rd run. That was followed up by a feature on a local radio show Social Chats with Tonya Scholz & Alisha Hayden where we had a great conversation on social media, Linkedinpro and the importance of giving back. In the evening I attended a meet & greet event at FIU Biscayne Bay Campus where fellow students shared their life changing experience after doing Alternative Breaks which is a community service experience that I plan on doing in March in Ecuador to help disadvantaged children. On top of that during the day I received a phone call from Pepsi letting me know that their extending me a job offer for their corporate development program – an elite program that would put me on the fast track to become a Pepsi executive. I also received an email from a local non-profit that wants to hire me as their social media consultant for an upcoming project.

Even though I had all these amazing accomplishments today. It all slipped away and seemed almost meaningless when I held for the first time my newly born nephew: Jordyn McCoy Joseph that was born today (12/2/10) at 7:47am. What made the moment even more special was the fact that I was able to share it with my mom, brother, sister, girlfriend, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law & my other nephew. Seeing our family gathered to welcome into the world a member of our next generation was a moment that has incomparable joy. In other words – no matter what accomplishments you make in your career they mean nothing if you don’t have happiness and joy in your family.

Today, I realized that even my best day could be topped by a few tender minutes of holding my newly-born nephew in my arms.
